Gifted and Talented
The aim of the Gifted and Talented committee is to develop learning activities that extend and challenge our selective student stream beyond the normal curriculum. One of the ways we do this is through our school developed cross curriculum projects.
The purpose of the cross-curriculum projects in Year 7 and 8 is to provide students in the selective stream the opportunity to explore a topic of interest within the framework of two or more subject areas. After a period of research and refinement, students present their findings to the group using any method they wish.
The cross-curriculum projects are required to be an extension of the knowledge, skills and understanding of the subject pairs the students investigate. During the course of completing the projects our students develop research, bibliography, ICT, analytical, presentation and abstract thinking skills that will improve their performance and confidence in all Key learning areas.Year 7 CCP Timetable 2011 (pdf, 43 KB)
